LEXAN ® - Textures

Sabic Innovative Plastics Lexan® is available in several texture finishes as described below:
Matte - Good for dead-front graphics, this has reduced surface reflection and gloss to hide filaments and eliminate hot spots in back-lit applications.

Fine Matte - Designed to eliminate pinholing, this has an optional texture for light diffusion and printability (while providing more uniform cut sheets.)

Velvet - For heavy-use applications, this hides scratches, fingerprints and marring while acting as a diffuser for windowed or back-lit applications.

Suede - Abrasion resistant, this was designed for very heavy-wear applications.

LEXAN® 8A13
LEXAN® 8A13 polycarbonate film has a matte/polished texture that offers excellent design flexibility. It offers mar resistance and can be used over light-emitting devices. Low gloss levels reduce glare in automobile interiors and offices.

LEXAN® 8A13F
LEXAN® 8A13F film is specifically designed to help reduce pinholes in demanding backlit applications. The fine matte/polish film offers excellent clarity, heat resistance and dimensional stability with a smooth surface. Look for improved gauge control and reduced texture variations.

Lexan* 8B35FA Film is a one side velvet, one side fine-matte transparent polycarbonate film with tight gloss control across the available gauges. A 2% allowable gloss change across gauges means better multi-component consistency for the OEM and the engineered fine-matte on the 2nd surface helps the processor eliminate pinholes in demanding backlit applications. This velvet/fine-matt film offers excellent clarity, heat resistance and dimensional stability with a smooth surface. It is provided with improved gauge control and reduced texture variations.
